The Los Angeles Lakers reached an agree with the New Orleans Pelicans that would send NBA Superstar Anthony Davis to Los Angeles for three players and three first round picks. After months of speculation and headlines surrounding the Lakers and Pelicans around the time when Davis requested a trade, the deal is done.
The Lakers dealt Josh Hart, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball, and three first-round picks, which includes the #4 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. Despite having to give up a lot of pieces and value, the Lakers were able to keep Kyle Kuzma, who was rumored to be the piece that the Pelicans wanted in the trade.
Although the trade has been agreed upon, it will not be completed until July 6, which is a few days after the free agency period begins. With this trade, the Lakers are now the favorites to win next year’s NBA Finals, but their work isn’t done yet as free agency gets started June 30th at 6 p.m.
