Walt Lemon Jr. is taking advantage of his new opportunity. Lemon Jr., who was recently called up by the Bulls from the G-League has been making the most of the moment. The former Bradley Braves star has played three games with the Bulls since joining the team March 30th. In his debut, Lemon Jr. posted 19 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 4 steals. The second game didn’t end well for him, only scoring 6 points, but last night he helped the Bulls in their one point win over the Wizards by scoring 24 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 assists.
Players in the G-League dream of these moments in the NBA. Lemon Jr. is fortunate to find himself on a team that has been struggling, so minutes are open as teams are open to playing younger players late in the season. Some will say he’s only doing this because he’s on a sorry team, but what would you want a player to do, go out there and not perform? This opportunity comes as a chance to showcase himself to the Bulls and other teams around the NBA by putting up strong performances.
Lemon Jr. received his call up after averaging 20.9 points, 8.4 assists, and 4.6 rebounds with the Windy City Bulls, which led to him also being name to the All G-League Second Team.
