There’s constant conversations about freshmen sensation’s Zion Williamson and RJ Barrett all over the media. The two have been putting up incredible numbers this season at Duke, but another freshman is having a phenomenal season himself, Detroit Mercy’s Antoine Davis. Davis is a 6’1″, 170 pound freshman from Birmingham, Alabama.
Davis has basketball in his blood. His dad is former Duke Blue Devil, Mike Davis. The elder Davis is also the head men’s basketball coach at the University of Detroit Mercy as well after leaving Texas Southern despite 2017 NCAA Tournament appearance.
The younger Davis has showcased himself all season long, averaging 26.3 points, 3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. He scored over 40 points twice this season, including a season-high of 48 points scored against Wright State on Jan. 3 and has had 6 other games where he scored 30 or more points.
It is evident that the sole reason Davis isn’t receiving the attention as the other big time freshmen is because of the school he is attending, but the kid can flat out play.
